It was great to see so many new faces at this week's networking event as well as some of our regulars. As is traditional we kicked off with an ice breaker, this week giving people the opportunity to recommend a favourite book and discuss why others in the group might want to read it. Of course this prompted some in-depth discussions and I for one came away with a new list for my Kindle. You can see some of the recommendations on our reading list.
This week we also invited Charlie and Matt from Rivalled to talk about their university sports platform and their experience seeking funding through the crowdfunding platform CrowdCube.
Here's what Charlie and Matt have to say about Rivalled.
Rivalled is a new sports platform for universities, aiming to improve sport participation and the collection of attendance data. Rivalled will work as an app for students, allowing them to network with like-minded others in sport and submit which events they attend. University staff can then analyse this information very simply and use this data to increase their bid for funding grants. We’re striving to build the biggest university sport network and have 3 universities ready to trial our platform, including the UK’s leading sport university; Loughborough.
Rivalled are currently crowdfunding on Crowdcube, if you would like to become a shareholder, please visit www.crowdcube.com/rivalled
